The child and the wizard went into the forest and listened with their hearts.
They heard the beautiful music that emanated from the forest - the sweet bird song, the whispers of the wind, they even heard the fairies giggling. They breathed in all the love and beauty, they smiled at each other, content and peaceful, at one with all creation.
After a while, the child looked up at the wizard and asked, "why do you walk with a limp?".
“I am old and my legs are not as strong as they used to be." - replied the wizard.
The child jumped up and grabbed a nearby stick. He waved it back and forth in front of the wizard - "I will turn you into a frog so you can hop with me around the forest" - declared the child excitedly.
The old wizard smiled. He crouched down and let out the words..."rivet, rivet" and the child and the wizard hopped and jumped and skipped around the forest like wild frogs; and they laughed and played until the first star twinkled in the early evening sky ...
And the forest echoed with laughter once more...
More wizard stories in the making!
"When absorbed in deep play, our sensory awareness is heightened. We become immersed in the present moment and feel intensely alert and alive. Because play is joyful and rewarding, we operate at the peak of our mental and physical capacity." - Richard Louv, (forward from Joseph Cornell’s book Nature Play)
Wishing you all a magical and playful weekend, with love and gratitude Marghanita x
