Today I returned to the ruined cottage with my sketch pad and watercolours. The skies were grey but the wild coastal walk had my heart singing; and painting in the ruin had my spirit dancing....I am now inspired to run a few workshops too - will keep you posted of dates and locations.
Inspired By Nature
I keep returning to this ruin - sitting in the crumbling window looking out to the sea, I am able to get lost, let time slip away and dream...dream...dream.
I wonder who lived here, imagining them sitting around the fire; what stories they could have shared if they were here today....a timely reminder of how fragile and fleeting life is. Ruins have always fascinated me; I love how nature has weaved its way into the remaining walls of this cottage. I too, am weathered by the wild raw elements; I feel so invigorated and happy and so so grateful to be ALIVE!
I will return later this week, this time with my large canvas
